Who Am I?

When someone asks, how do you reply?

Do you reply with,

What is your name?

Your age?

Your likes?

Your dislikes?

Your passions?

This question can sometimes be very hard to answer, because we are still exploring the world we live in, and even more so we do not know who we truly are.

Our answers gradually change or they stay the same.

However, our personality which defines us, speaks louder on our behath. We say words that describe us, but sometimes they hold little worth. When no one is watching, there is no pressure; we are captured in a moment and the passion begins to grow, who we are comes out and we shine bright.

Do not forget those moments because it's in those moments everything else is forgotten. We truly become us.

There is no is no shame, so we live in the moment

So my question to you is, who are you in these moments? What makes you shine and everything else disappear?

My name is Miriam Concepcion and I will answer who am I.

I am Miriam who loves to write, who can easily create at a whim. Writing is a way for me to get my thoughts out. With writing comes reading, and let me tell you, there is not one second in a day that I am not reading. To read is to be amazed by words of a person, to laugh, and to cry. I am easily captured.

I am Miriam who truly loves to give her friends hugs, because when I give hugs it feels peaceful. They say that hugs are magical; that they make someone happy, they they make you forget the past and sometimes even stop the present.

I am Miriam the positivity. I'm always the person who will pick you up. When you are looking down at the floor ashamed, I will hug and tell you that it will be okay. When the world seems like it's crashing, I will tell you that it's going to pass; that everything will comeback together.

I am Miriam who will always be at your side, even when you feel like there's no one. I feel like there is nothing else in the world when it's just me and you. With every fiber in my body, I wish that I can take away those fears; that I can help change the way you feel. It hurts knowing that I can sometimes do very little, but just be right here. Yet it won't stop me, there I will continue to be.

I am Miriam who loves to do the unexpected, even though I love for everything to be detailed. To go out to the city and not have an original plan and just start walking to wherever your heart takes you.

I am Miriam who simply wants nothing but to be loved, and to love in return.

There are many things about me that I have yet to discover, if not spoken of. Yet this is me now, this is who I've always been.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. It seems pretty easy to do, and in high school all we wanted to do was graduate and move on to this next chapter of our lives. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
