20 Things I've Learned From Disney Movies

As I was packing up my bags to go down to Orlando a week ago, I was thinking about Disney movies because the only thing I knew for sure was that I was going to Disney World that week. So, I watched some Disney movies to remember my childhood. The thing about Disney movies is that they teach us life lessons that we don't always realize quite fast. That is why I've decided to share with you some things I learned from these movies.

1. Don't trust a stranger.

I mean my parents always told me this, but parents need some backup sometimes.

2. It's better to tell the truth.

Why be caught in a lie and lose someone's trust in you?

3. You can achieve any of your goals.

It's up to you, don't give up and don't let other people pull you down.

4. No matter what you go through you will overcome it.

5. Be nice to people.

Even if they treat you badly. My mom taught me that the best way to punish someone was to treat them nicely.

6. When in doubt, always ask.

It's better to be curious and get to know a little bit of everything than to be ignorant for fear of asking.

7. Always believe in yourself.

"I think the best message from this film is to believe in yourself and never stop seeing the world as little boy would, full of possibilities, hope, and adventure" -Hugh Jackman about Peter Pan (2015)

8. Love and respect nature.

I think nowadays this is really important since humans seem to have lost their respect for Mother Earth and other species.

9. Sometimes you need to make sacrifices.

10. The outside looks are not the only thing that counts.

Sometimes you have to look deeper to find the things you love the most.

11. Life is full of unpredictable possibilities.

Those who wait get the best surprises.

12. Live without worries.

Hakuna matata!

13. Accept that everyone is different.

"You think the only people who are people are the people who look and think like you, but if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew you never knew" -Pocahontas

Cultural diversity everyone!

14. Never leave a friend behind.

If my friends need me I will be there no matter what.

15. Never be embarrassed of being yourself.

You are amazing and flawless. Don't let anyone tell you any different.

16. You can be a hero.

All that matters is that you act from the kindness of your heart.

17. Fight for your beliefs.

No matter how hard the fight can be.

18. Explore yourself and figure out who you want to be.

19. Ohana.

" Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten" - Lilo and Stitch

20. Never give up.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.
