For some of us, PNM, or potential new member, has become a second name that we have all gotten accustomed to responding to. No matter what school you attend, recruitment can be a brutal, yet exciting process that I think we can all relate to-
The first house jitters:
If you weren't about to pee yourself when your Rho Gammas lined you up outside of the first house, you are not human. Especially if you were in the beginning of the alphabet(like me) and were the first to enter and last to leave.
The awkward/overwhelming-who is picking me up- look when you step in a house:
Looking around at all of the screaming, clapping girls like a lost puppy wondering who is going to come by and awkwardly escort you to a seat.
The scratchy-or even lost- voice:
After a full day of (screaming)conversations about your major, your home town, & of course your high school activities, its only inevitable that you start to lose your voice.
Trying to guess what sorority your Rho Gamma is in:
Going down the list of sororities and asking your Rho Gam which one she is while she tries to not give it away.
Getting cut from houses:
Feeling like you're going through a breakup wondering why you weren't good enough for that specific chapter. Is it my sweaty face?
Hearing "just trust the system!" at least 10 times a day:
You already know that "you end up where you're supposed to be"(and you do), but it still sounds like a broken record all week long.
Memorizing all of the sororities' entrance songs:
"Z-E-T-E-A-L-Zeta Tau Alpha-", and forgetting that there is still real music in the outside world(outside meaning outside of recruitment).
The inner girl coming out on bid day:
Whether you're a girly girl or not, you can't not scream when you open your bid day card.
Loving your sorority sisters the second you run home to them:
Yes, it is socially acceptable to run up and hug all of the girls that you only know from your Instagram stalking because YOU'RE SISTAS NOW!
