The inevitable has happened, I have made a TikTok account.
I remember the days where I would tell myself that I would never watch those videos, let alone, get an account! Having to spend so much time indoors lately has lead to falling into the TikTok trap (it really is a trap, I promise). It is one thing to watch all of these people do really cool dances but it is completely different to try and recreate those dance moves on your own! It is a lot harder than it seems (or maybe 22 year olds have a harder time? you tell me!). Countless times I have tried to follow these super fun looking dances but time after time I failed...
Find me a dance that has less than six moves and I'll have it down by the end of the day (or maybe the end of the week but regardless, I'll have it down) but give me a dance that has more moves than that and you can forget it!
One of my favorite things about this app is the different people you can find on this app. In my "For You" section I can find videos that show short DIY cooking, tips and tricks for organizing, or even where to find dupes for expensive products.
The videos that I find myself making are lip syncing to someone else's sound. Those are by far my favorite to watch and my favorite to recreate.
It is so funny to me that when I first downloaded the app I was so bamboozled when it came to the functioning of it (creating videos, editing, adding effects, etc). I even had to ask my 16-year-old brother (yeah, I MUST be getting old). A month into the TikTok world and I have videos that have reached the eyes of over 2,000 people ,so I guess you could say I'm famous. Now, if you need me, I'll be watching videos on how to build a pool from dirt in the jungle...don't ask, that's how TikTok works!
