Being a Christian isn't necessarily something that can be explained. It's something that has to be felt. Poetry is the closest we can come to "feeling" another person's words or experiences, so here is my attempt to explain the unexplainable. Here is what it is like to be a Christian, for those of you who don't know:
Being a Christian
for those of you who don’t know
is having your sins washed away,
and waking up early on Sunday mornings
to see what the preacher has to say.
Being a Christian
for those of you who don’t know
is falling to your knees in prayer,
thanking Him for His blessings
and laying your soul bare.
Being a Christian
for those of you who don’t know
is being full of inner peace,
feeling the depths of His love
and knowing that it will never cease.
Being a Christian
for those of you who don’t know
is finding beauty
in the ugliest of places
and being aware of His overflowing graces.
Being a Christian
for those of you who don’t know
is forgiveness you don’t deserve
and knowing you’re never alone
even when His presence isn’t visibly shown.
Being a Christian
for those of you who don’t know
is a life full of love and compassion,
and an overflowing river of grace
that you can’t help but to drown in.
