Being friends with all extroverts is great, but it can get super tiring when you're an introvert.
Being introverted doesn't mean you're necessarily shy or asocial, it just means that sometimes you need to hang out by yourself for a while. Extroverts gain energy from being around others while introverts lose energy after a lot of social interaction.
Your extroverted friends are great but there's more than a few ways that you're different, and here's what that's like:
1. They probably don't understand why you just need to leave and watch Netflix by yourself for a while.
2. That perpetually awkward situation when people are at your house and you don't want to be rude and ask them to leave but you really just want to be by yourself.
3. Spending an entire day with your friends means you need at least a day of alone time immediately afterward.
4. When you're about to hang out with someone and as soon as your plans begin, you realize you kind of just want to binge watch Grey's Anatomy.
5. Your friends could hang out for days but you're ready for a nap after a couple hours.
6. "Wanna hang out?" "Sorry, I can't, I have plans!" *plans include doing absolutely nothing*
7. Weekends at the bar are great, but weekends full of wine nights and a movie are also equally as great (and sometimes way better).
8. Going on vacation with your friends is full of fun, but it's also exhausting, so when vacation ends and you get to hang out by yourself, it feels like actual therapy.
9.We can totally put on the extrovert hat when it's necessary, but don't be angry when we need a nap afterward.
So, the moral of the story is: I love my extrovert friends, but y'all wear me out.
