I've had severe migraines for almost two years. When I say migraines some people might think that I mean just an occasional headache that medication helps. That is not the case at all. I normally get migraines when I'm working or if I'm concentrating hard on something. Migraines are different for everyone but I'm going to let you know what mine are like.
First comes the light sensitivity, anytime I'm starting to get a migraine I'm hardly able to open my eyes due to the excruciating pain it causes my head. That's when I take Excedrin Migraine even though I know it won't help. After the light sensitivity comes the nausea, then comes the feeling of fireworks going off in my head.
People often ask me why I don't try things to help it, when the reality is that I've tried many things. I got the piercing that's supposed to help it and it didn't work. I've tried using oils and those don't help either.
When I have a migraine it hurts to laugh, to talk and to open my eyes. I've never been one to spend a day alone in my foom with the lights off doing nothing, however now that's how I spend a lot of my days.
Until you have experienced a migraine every single day for almost two years that are as intense as mine, don't automatically assume that when someone has a migraine that it's "just a headache"
