I personally feel like I live in a state of perpetual exhaustion. It's not the kind of tired where I can't be productive, but it's the kind of tired where I am constantly thinking about taking a nap. Here are a few things about what it's like to be constantly ready to hit the hay.
1. Nap?
Just woke up, but I need a nap. Okay, if I can get to my room at exactly this time then I should be able to sleep for this long... A five minute nap can do wonders for someone who is constantly tired, but a 5 hour nap can do so much more.
2. Caffeine.
I personally don't drink coffee, tea, soda, or energy drinks, but I know a lot of people who basically live off of the stuff. I'm pretty sure if you cut their veins open coffee beans would spill out.
3. Under Eye Bags.
Yes, these bags are designer. And by designer I mean I designed them by not sleeping enough. And these bags never go out of style, always in season, every day, every week, 365 days a year.
4. Are you hungry or are you just tired?
Okay yes, this is a real thing. Sometimes when I think I'm hungry I am actually just in need of a snooze.
5. You can sleep anywhere. And I mean ANYWHERE.
I can fall asleep on the floor, in a chair, in a car, near or far, wherever you are. I don't even need to be comfy to pass out, give me something to rest my head on, whether it's my own arm, a pillow, or a book bag and I am set to take a nap.
6. Out like a light.
Most people who are in a state of perpetual exhaustion can fall asleep in a relatively short amount of time. A friend once timed me and now I know that i can fall asleep in about 30 seconds. Is that a special skill? Can I add that to my resume?
I'd make this article a lot longer, but I'd rather go to bed. Good night!
