Being sick in college is honestly completely miserable. You already have enough to juggle, but when your body decides to be weak, you don't even have your mom to hold on to. Here's my latest experience being sick told by Sheldon Cooper.
1. Everyone on campus seems to be sick.
You wash your hands and avoid anyone and everyone who looks slightly sick.
2. Realize that a cold is coming on.
Just when you think that you made it through flu season, you swallow and suddenly your throat starts hurting and behind your nose aches.
3. Pray that you have medicine in your room.
Maybe there's an Advil in here from when mom made me bring a medicine cabinet freshman year?
4. Understand that you are nowhere near being prepared.
This is honestly the worst week to be sick.
5. Call your mom.
Can you send a care package with all the medicines I need? (Please put yourself in there.)
6. Taking that Advil you found in the bottom of your backpack.
Uh, I'm pretty sure that was medicine.
7. Wonder if you should call a doctor.
I'm not entirely sure my snot looks normal.
8. Decide not to visit a doctor because you honestly can't miss another class.
That test is definitely not going to be postponed and those papers aren't going to turn themselves in.
9. Miss class anyway.
So to pass, I just need to get an A on everything else. Okay, okay.
10. Cancel all your social plans.
It stinks cause they are mostly things you actually want to go to.
11. Let the medicine kick in.
I feel on top of the world!
12. Decide that being sick isn't so bad.
Netflix marathons are great (until the show is canceled midseason and you didn't know).
13. Realize that the only thing you've eaten in the last 24 hours is ice cream and soup.
One time my mom said to eat honey and sprite, but the ice cream feels better.
14. Thank your roommate for being your mom away from mom.
Honestly, you wouldn't remember your mom's home remedies without her.
15. Start feeling better.
IT'S OVER!
Congratulations! You survived being sick in college! (Good luck with everything else...)
