It may come as a surprise to some, but there are many college students who prefer a quiet night in instead of a crowded room filled with alcohol and loud music. Not every college student enjoys is the typical "party on the weekends" type of lifestyle and that is perfectly OK. There is not a right way to do college as everyone's experience is very different. Here's what it's like being an old woman stuck in a college student's body.
You prefer quiet nights in.
Not everyone finds a crowded and loud atmosphere to be all that fun and exciting. There really isn't anything appealing about shoving your way through a group of drunk people packed together like sardines. Odds are you prefer to spend your nights catching up on your favorite shows and hanging out with friends. You're all about the quiet lifestyle and you wouldn't change it for anything.
You're in your PJ's by 8 p.m.
While everyone else is crowding around the mirrors in the bathrooms getting ready to go out, you're getting ready to snuggle up in bed with some popcorn and watch a movie. This is something you've been looking forward to all day. You simply do not understand how wearing a short dress and heels is more fun than lounging around in sweats.
You're that one person doing laundry on a Saturday night.
While everyone is out and about, you have your choice of which laundry machine to use! See, you're the real winner here because you don't have to wait for someone else to take their clothes out of the washer. No people, no problems. Being a college student and having limited time, laundry is important. You can only re-wear clothes so many times.
You're the designated "mom" of your friend group.
At times you may feel like you're watching over a group of 10-year-olds but you love them anyways. Whenever one of your friends has a problem or needs advice they come to you. You make sure everyone is taken care of and you're friends always know they can count on you.
You're the queen of napping.
Only have 20 minutes in between classes? Not a problem. You need your daily naps to help you through the day and function like a normal human being. They can easily make or break your college experience. It's like being a parent but just without any children.
You have your set schedule and that's not going to change.
"Yeah sorry I can't tonight 'Grey's Anatomy' is on." You know your routine and you stick to it no matter what. It might be only a TV show to some but this is seriously something that I can not miss.
You'll never truly understand some of your peers, but your lifestyle is something you wouldn't change for anything.
