Picture this – you pick your seat out of multiple rows, and of course it has to be the first row. You sit, grab your harness, bringing it down to click in for safety. The employees run around making sure everything is great for the next run of the coaster. The anticipation grows, and they clear the ride with a thumbs up. The ride begins as you go up the first hill. Millions of thoughts go through your head, maybe a quick a few comments, and then, you look down. A ninety degree angle drop that seems to be heading straight through the ground. How do you react? With a scream of terror? Shouts of joy? Do you throw your arms up?
The answer is all three.
If you are a ride warrior, then you know you are a daredevil throughout the whole amusement park. You will ride any ride, and you will find thrilling adventures in each one. There may be a few that seem like no match to you, but a few may be a surprise to you. Those are the rides that you will ride more than once for sure, but sadly, so will everyone else.
It takes guts, patience, courage, and the need of adrenaline to ride the fastest, highest, and steepest roller coasters. How come? Because, it takes guts to get in line, patience to wait in the long lines that could take an hour, courage to get onto the ride, and not thinking twice about it. Then finally, getting the best reward as you experience the best thing you have ever done. You get the heavy weight off of your shoulders and feet, as you speed through time. A blast of a lifetime.
Being a ride warrior is like taking life to the fullest, even through the toughest stages in life. There are bumps in the road, and hills to climb up, except it's all worth it once you get over it. So, to me, a roller coaster is a good practice to follow life with. You may cry because you are scared, but once you been through the worst, you can face anything. Right? If not, then are you even living your life to the fullest?
I dare you to. I dare you to face the scariest thing in life, even if you are afraid a roller coaster. I was, especially my first one when I was eight or so. I rode the Batman at Geauga Lake, which is now closed, but I fell in love with it. (Though, I suggest a smaller roller coaster to start out with.)
Like I said before, it takes guts, but also strength to believe in yourself that you can accomplish anything within your path. I'm sure you are not alone on this, and I am positive that someone is there to help through it all. Whether it may be family, friends, or God.
Well, to my fellow ride warriors, I will see you soon at Cedar Point, and challenge you to ride the best thrilling ride you can find, even if it takes everything within you.
