Some may wonder, "what is so special about Kappa Alpha Theta? What is Theta?"

The answer to these questions can be briefly covered in a quote, stating "From the outside looking in we don't understand. From the inside looking out we can't explain."

Although it is hard to articulate in words the love many thetas have for our sisters, for our values, and for our organization, I will attempt to explain why and how Kappa Alpha Theta is truly a unique sorority.

Theta is...

A group of driven women.

Theta is comprised of women who are passionate and have a drive to accomplish their goals. They are go-getters. They are the women who do not wait for what they want to come to them; they go and get it. No obstacle is big enough to deter a driven theta.

A group of women who value themselves and the well being of others.

Theta's value themselves because they know how strong they are; they are able to conquer anything. Theta's value themselves because they have standards and will never go below them. They know what value they have and what they deserve. Theta's also value others--donating their time and love to those who lack them. This can be seen through their nationwide participation with their partner, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster children).

A group of women who are truly inspiring.

Many theta sisters and theta alumni truly inspire the members of Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity. By striving to be a hard working individual, many theta's inside and outside of the chapter accomplish so much to be proud of. There are many collegian theta members who have accomplished truly amazing things--going to get their master degree, exploring the world to teach underprivileged children how to speak English, attaining internships with some of the tops businesses in the world, and so much more. In addition, we have some wonderful alumni to look up to (including business woman Tory Burch) who constantly remind us that dreams do not always have to be dreams. They can become reality.

A group of women who are leaders.

Kappa Alpha Theta is a group of leading women. They are never afraid to stand up for what they believe in. They understand the values of leadership and how to be an effective leader. Leadership to theta's aren't about "being in charge" and "calling all the shots". Leadership is listening to the needs of others, promoting diversity, and believing in yourself and others. It is leading by example and being authentic.

And because this is what theta is...

That is why I'm a theta.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
