What It Means To Be A Teacher In The 21st Century

Teaching has been changing over time and so has what it actually means to be a teacher in the 21st century. So much more goes into it than what meets the eye. Now having done six different teaching internships myself, I see what it means to be a teacher.

1. You are a teacher.

2. You are a guidance counselor.

3. You are a therapist.

4. You are a friend.

5. You are a role model.

6. You are a confidant.

7. You are a problem solver.

8. You make a difference.

It is certainly not an easy job but it is one of the most rewarding ones. No one would be where they were today if it wasn't for their teachers. Next time you see your teachers, thank them for all that they do because there is more than meets the eye.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area.
