Being the older sibling has its ups and downs...but in the end, there is no argument that it's truly a privilege <3

1. Take the blame

Whoever might have committed the crime, you're usually the one to take the fall

2. Pays for things

It's just somehow assumed when you go out, whether for food, running errands, etc, it's your wallet that suffers the consequences

3. Feeling like a proud parent

Your younger sibling learns how to ride a bike, makes it on their first sports team, lines up for prom pictures, and walks across the graduation stage; you can't help but tear up and feel like they're your baby

4. Standing up for them

You're the undercover body guard disguised as an older sibling who protects and looks out for the youngins in the hall ways at school or when it comes to real life adult situations

5. Cleaning their mess

How do they get away with never doing their dishes, vacuuming, or putting their cloths away?!? You'll be gathering their stuff for everyones sake

6. Guinea pig that paves the way

When you're the oldest, you do things first, but then your siblings roll through and they get everything at a younger age, are less likely to get in trouble, and your parents know what to do because they already went through it once

7. Put in charge

Parents gone for the weekend? Older sibling makes the rules

8. Always get shotgun (or you're the driver)

Enough said.

9. Special sibling advice

You get to share moments that are impossible to experience with someone else because you know each other better than anyone, can keep secrets, and know what's best for the other

10. Sharing your stuff

Sometimes its frikin' awesome. Other times it sucks more than anything.

11. A built in best friend

Regardless of them taking your charger or never getting in trouble, you love them unconditionally and will always have a best friend

Go hug your siblings!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
