What Is Tim Tebow Doing?

Someone confused the letters in MLB and NFL.

What Is Tim Tebow Doing?

Disclaimer: I am not a Tim Tebow hater. I’m just amused by what has been going on lately.

I’ve been hearing various things about Tim Tebow since 6th grade when he was a quarterback for the University of Florida. This was the 2008 season, so there were high hopes for Tebow and the Gators because Tebow had just won the Heisman Trophy in 2007. In case I somehow forgot that fact, it was printed in the newspaper nearly every single day to remind me. My area newspaper easily mentioned Tim Tebow several times a week while he was at UF. Most of my middle school college football memories are Tim Tebow. Whether it was “Tebowing” or getting in trouble for John 3:16 on his eye black, there was always a headline or article to be written.

Throughout his time at UF, I heard at least one thing about Tebow or the Gators every day. Unless you lived under a rock, you knew the name and sometimes that was more than enough. I was never much of a college football fan, so it was all pretty unamusing to me. I would get a little aggravated when the NFL Monday Morning Quarterback section of the paper quoted people saying how Tim Tebow would make a great QB for the Jaguars. Maybe he would, but the whole point of the section was to talk about what happened in the Jaguars’ games…not hypothesize a college football quarterback’s capabilities.

There was considerable hype surrounding Tebow in the 2010 NFL Draft, and it was really all for nothing. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos and I thought that meant I wouldn’t hear about him very often. The newspaper had second thoughts. Tebow threw a touchdown pass? Headline! The Denver Broncos won? Headline!

After his rookie NFL season, things got a little quieter. I didn’t hear much about Tebow or what team’s jersey he was sporting. Everything seemed to have died down and I took it for granted. The numerous football articles and headlines could have never prepared me for what was to come in the future. I could hardly believe it when I first heard about it.

Tim Tebow playing…baseball??

I still haven’t quite wrapped my head around it, but there’s no hiding the fact he’s already hit a home run with the Mets. Seriously, it's not a secret considering I’ve come across about 10 articles and seen the footage on TV. I don’t doubt that it’s mentioned in my hometown area newspaper. Thankfully the 2016 MLB regular season is almost over, so I might luck out and not hear much about Tebow until April. As odd as the circumstance is, I’m pretty intrigued and am looking forward to seeing how his MLB career goes.

Best of luck!

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
