The Women's College World Series, or WCWS for short, is a series of games that determines which team is the best in women's collegiate softball. It takes place every year in Oklahoma City at Hall of Fame Stadium. The eight teams who have won their respective regionals advance to the Women's College World Series, where they play a double-elimination tournament until two teams remain. These two teams then play each other in a best-of-three series to determine who will (evenly) claim the national championship and the Women's College World Series title.Last year's Women's College World Series featured six schools from four conferences: the University of Florida Gators (SEC), Oklahoma Sooners (Big 12), UCLA Bruins (Pac-12), the University of Alabama Crimson Tide (SEC), Baylor Bears, and the University of Michigan Wolverines (Big Ten).
The Oklahoma Sooners won its fifth women's NCAA Women's College World Series title defeating the Florida State softball team twice in a best-of-three series.
