Definitions of Mimi as follows. According to urban dictionary: sweet, funny, sarcastic, but GREAT and beautiful. The act of sleeping. According to abbreviations.com: fairy-like beings. According to grandparents.com: a synonym for grandma, nonna, nonny. According to wikipedia.com: a village in Nepal, a popular song by Rodgers and Hart, or a chain of Cafés in the US. According the Encyclopedia: Member of the Institute of the Motor Industry. According to me: younger than a grandma, better than an aunt. Not related by blood, but related by love. This amazing superwoman like person with the biggest heart ever.

Although most of the websites did not have the correct definition of Mimi, urban dictionary and abbreviations.com pretty much got it right, at least for my Mimi. Mimis come in a shapes and sizes. Mine likes all kinds of food, Paris, anything pretty, and especially her birthday. She likes it so much so doesn’t just celebrate the day, or even the week, she celebrates the whole entire month. We call it Mimipalooza and it takes over the whole month of October. So in celebration of that I decided to write you this.

Hi Mim! Happy end of your birthday month! In celebration of your birthdaypalooza I decided to write you this. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for you or how lucky I am to have you. You’re the only one who is crazy enough to dance on top of a box in Jersey or buy 6 different types of popcorn. You’re the only one who will watch all of the step it up movies with me and serve chocolate for dinner. The only one insane enough to feel the paper before you buy it. You are kind and wise and unconditionally loving and you don’t know how grateful I am for that.

I don’t even know how to go about writing this because I don’t know how to say thank you a million times in a million different ways. But let me give it a try. Thanks for the endless nights and sleepovers throughout the years, thanks for helping me with my math homework way back when, thanks for all the pick up and taking of me to school and other events, thanks for honking the horn and screaming out the window the day of my graduation, thanks for picking me up at 5:50 in the mornings for workouts, thanks for not making me work out anymore, thanks for watching Revenge of the Bridesmaids with me a thousand times, and thanks for always bringing me back a vinalmation when you go to Disney without me (still bitter). Thank you for being endlessly generous and always being loving. For taking care of my mom and nanny always, no matter what. For loving me and spoiling the heck out of me for 19 years and counting. For never leaving my side and for not moving to Savannah or Texas. For always staying in PA for your birthday and Christmas because you know those are mine and for making every other day feel like a holiday.

You are this amazing woman; I want you to know that. You’re not just my Mimi, but you’re one of my role models. You’ve encouraged me to do the impossible all my life and you’re there when I need you with the best advice ever. You helped me become a better person and taught me to be kind to all because I’m so fortunate. You taught me to never hate and always be positive, to do everything with a smile on my face, and to love everyone and everything. You support me and love me and I don’t know how I could live without you. You share my love in all things colorful, pretty, good smelling, yummy, and fabulous. You are not afraid of anything because you are superwoman and I am so blessed to have you in my life. I know that I can call you for whatever at anytime or any place and you’ll be there no matter how stupid or silly I am. So, I just wanted to say thank you for that. I hope you had a good Mimipalooza since it has now come to an end, but don’t worry it will be back in just 11 more months, and I cannot wait.

So, Happy Birthday Mimi. To recap, I love you, you’re great, you’re never allow to get married or leave me, and you mean the world to me. It’s been a crazy 19 years that we’ve shared and I’m so grateful that you’ve been by my side for it all. I can’t wait for the kids I never want to have to meet you and love you, too, because you’re going to be their “Great Mimi” that spoils them to death. But in the meantime, you’re all mine. I will go to the ends of the earth for you. Love you so, so much, Sabrina. Xoxoxo

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
