What does it mean to be multi-lingual? Multi means many, a lot, more than one and probably more than two. Lingual means languages; what does language mean? It's words and sentences, but its also the words and sentences of a culture. It is how we write stories and tell truths. Its how we express love, joy and anger. A language is not just words; our perception of the world is completely defined by the language with which we grew up. With every new language we add those limited are extended. They give us new tools to perceive the world and out own existence.

Each language is a person, with ideas, thoughts, and perspective. Each person we get to know broadens our horizons and teaches us new ways of life.

Each language is its culture, and the people and heritage which shaped it. The language is the expression and thought of a culture. It is the voice of a culture.

Each language is a tool for communication but it is also so much more. A language is how people think. It is the ideas they think, it is how the think about these ideas, and it is a world. We are all confined by our worlds.

Every language you learn in a beautiful mind waiting to push the limits of yours.

The constraints that hold your mind in one language are like invisible boundaries that we do not see, each language extends the boundaries and soon enough, these limits seize to exist.

Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
