It's Okay To Not Have All The Answers

What is it about the unknown that keeps us always wondering and wanting more?

In my opinion, there are two different types of people in the world. The people who want answers and the people who avoid those answers at all costs. I myself am in the middle.

Why do people go back to things that nine times out of 10 they most likely shouldn’t? People are comfortable with whatever it is that they are going back to, regardless of if they actually believe that they deserve better or even more for themselves.

People would rather go back to their ex then take the time in getting to know someone else; it is all-around common sense with the human brain. People stay at their jobs because it is easier, and they just don’t want the hassle with finding a new one. People do not change because they do not want too.

If you resist change, you are going to stay the same while everything else is changing and passing you by and growing. I have learned that you must change to survive in any situation on this planet. Change is the only thing on this planet that is consistent, whether you actually want to change or not. Embrace what is happening to you.

You can be the person avoiding everything or you can be the person asking questions and getting answers. Listen, you aren’t always going to like what you hear or what you find out, but that’s the point; it is all about growing and it is all about learning from different things.

The road less traveled is the better path to take. Going after what you want is the better plan with a lot more opportunities. I am a big case with this and giving people chances, but I will be the first to tell you to give someone a chance, or give that new job a chance; it is better to know than to always wonder 'what if' about something.

It is always better to be able to grow with yourself and be able to handle the constant changes that life throws around in this world. Human nature is to always wonder and always wanting more. We as humans are just programmed like that; you always want to be better, it’s just what we do.

I think that the people who avoid answers do so because they already know the answer, but to hear it in real life makes it actually real. So by avoiding those answers they won't have to believe it. I am a culprit of this on occasions; there are some things that people just do not want to hear, and there are some people who will tell you what you want to hear so that they do not hurt you along the way, which in reality is just going to hurt you even more.

Regardless if you are the person who avoids the answers or goes out and chases them, you are who you are and that is perfectly okay. As long as you know you are growing and that you do not need an answer for everything that happens to you. There isn't always going to be an answer and you have to be okay with that.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
