What Is happiness?

Happiness is within you. -Jimi Hendrix

What Is happiness?

Happiness is defined as the state of being happy, but what exactly is it? I feel like everyone has their own opinion of what happiness means to them. There are many questions that I ask myself when I think of what happiness means to me.

Does happiness come from people? things? a place?

Is happiness a feeling? a look? a smile? love?

While everyone may answer these questions differently, I wanted to take the time to tell you what happiness means to me.

For me, happiness is a feeling in my heart. I feel it when I am with special people that I love and I know that they love me back. To me, it feels like my heart is glowing. It's like I can't do anything but smile. I think that a smile is how happiness is shown. A true smile though, not a fake smile. Some people can hide behind a smile, and that's okay, but someone who really knows you knows that it's not your real smile. Personally, I think that happiness can be spread with a smile, especially to a stranger. You have no idea what someone else is going through, so a simple smile that you give them really could go a long way.

Could you imagine what the world would be like if every one smiled at each other?

Happiness is contagious just like a smile. It breaks my heart to know that there are some people in the world that don't think happiness is an option for them. I just wish the people of this world worked harder to be nice than to be mean.

Fun fact: it takes more muscles in your face to frown than to smile.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
