What is FlashPoint?
GeekNation

FlashPoint right now is big talk for the superhero tv world. Right now, FlashPoint is the storyline that the tv show "The Flash" is following for this coming season. The main premise of FlashPoint is that Barry Allen goes back in time and stops his mother from being murdered, thus changing the timeline. Since the tv show timeline is a little different, I am going to talk about the comic book timeline for those watchers who want to know more about the origins of FlashPoint. So, here we go. Also beware, but there are going to be spoilers ahead!

1. Thomas Wayne is Batman.

On the night of the robbery, after Flash goes back in time, Bruce dies instead of his parents. When Bruce dies, Martha goes crazy and turns into the Joker and Thomas turns into Batman. At the end of the series, the Flash finally is heading back when Thomas gives him a letter that he wrote for the Bruce of the original timeline letting him know how proud he was.

2. Barry loses his powers.

3. The Atlanteans and Amazonians are at war.As a result of him saving his mother, he is not in the same place where the lightning strikes him, so he never got the powers that let him save his mother's life. When he realizes that saving his mother screwed up the timeline, he goes to Thomas for help to get his powers back by recreating the storm that gave him the powers in the first place.

The world as Barry knew it has gone into chaos. The biggest reason is because the Amazonians and the Atlanteans have an all out war happening between the two groups. Their war has reached every part of the Earth. It is basically World War III but with superpowers.

4. And lastly, without FlashPoint, we might not have had rebirth.

Of course, even after Barry fixes the timeline and goes back to the original, somethings are still messed up. This gave DC the perfect opportunity to restart the comics, but not having to go over everyone's origin stories again. They were able to reset the timelines that Barry messed up, while being able to add new characters to the universe. So, I guess Barry did something right.

Now the CW FlashPoint is going to look nothing like this because it is not connected to the movie universe, but it has the same overall arch of Barry messing up the timeline and having to fix the mistakes that he has made. Or he will have to learn to live with the mistakes he has made because he should not go back in time anymore.

You done messed up Barry Allen. Time to fix it.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
