1) What is FEMM?

FEMM stands for fertility education and medical management. They have four health centers, one of which is located at 1872 N. High Street Columbus, Ohio. What they do is provide reproductive and general women’s and men’s sex health education as well as conduct research regarding these topics. They have doctors, nurse practitioners and nurses who take patients with concerns or questions about their body, birth control, and much more. Their website even provides detailed information regarding common questions and concerns that most women have and may or may not be too afraid to ask about. “FEMM is committed to a person-centered approach to health care and achieving the highest possible outcomes for women's health”.

2) What do they offer?

Besides offering patient support, they offer the opportunity to take classes on understanding FEMM itself, as well as the female body, the menstrual cycle, and family planning. These are all very important things any woman should have a strong understanding about. They also offer ways to become a FEMM teacher by offering classes and certifications for those who wish to educate the public. Taking classes for better understanding how your body works as a female is very important to understanding signs that may be abnormal or due to other causes such as pregnancy. Even for men, this would be important when sexually active or are in a committed relationship. Having two people on the same team with a strong understanding of the female body can help prevent any confusion, pregnancy scares, and more.

3) What else do they do?

They also conduct plenty of scientific research on reproductive and general women’s health. All of their articles that discuss the research and findings can be found on their website. You may be able to find something relevant to what you may be experiencing or have questions about. It’s a great source for sex, reproductive, and health education beyond what is already known.

4) How can you get involved and learn more?

There is a group on Ohio State University’s campus called BuckeyeFEMM. They are affiliated with FEMM and aim to educate students and peers about reproductive health and understanding their own bodies. It is a great resource because you’re surrounded with other students like you who have similar questions you would be comfortable around to learn with and from. They educate through means of group discussions and events. If you wish to learn more and join, their email is buckeyefemm@femmhealth.org and their Facebook group is titled BuckeyeFEMM.

There are plenty of organizations on campus geared towards educating the student in a variety of aspects through interactive engagement but this by far is the most underrated one. It discusses and addresses common and even obscure health issues in the sexual and reproductive health realm that is vital to every college student. Check them out and see what you can learn about your body! They are located on 1872 N. High Street right off campus and their phone number is (614) 360 – 9995 their website is https://femmhealth.org/

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
