What In The Gilmore?

I have so many emotions after finally returning to Stars Hollow and I never want to leave.

What In The Gilmore?

This is an article full of spoilers so if you haven't made it through all four episodes of the Gilmore Girls revival series -- just stop reading. If you have finished, or you're weird like me and want to spoil it (yes, I did that), then proceed my friend.

This Netflix revival actually felt like I was seeing old friends for the first time in forever, and even though I didn't get to see nearly enough Sookie, it was a pretty magical experience. So much happened in these four episodes, like I swear this is such a timeless show and I feel like we've missed out so much on the last 9 years of the Gilmore Girls' lives. The three generations of Gilmore women have so much going on and after binge watching the new episodes, I have a lot of thoughts about where each of them are at in their crazy lives.

First of all, I don't think I have ever felt such hatred toward Rory. How did she forget about how boyfriend every time he left? It was funny at first, but it quickly turned sour when you realized she was also cheating on him with her very engaged ex-boyfriend Logan Huntzberger. That girl has no remorse and I seriously was so over her teenage behavior; like please act 32 and not 15, dude. I just can't condone her stupid choices after she already slept with Dean when he was married, doesn't she remember how terrible that situation turned out to be? Also, why is she so stuck in the past? She needs to find a new man, preferably not a Paul, and move on. I think she's a little too slutty and a little too much like her mother for her own good at this point.

On to Lorelai- how are her and Luke just now tying the knot? Why is she so afraid of commitment? I am so glad they finally decided to get married but like damn why did they wait nearly a decade- we all know they are meant to be and always have been. Even with all of that being said, I probably loved her character even more (is that even a possibility?) in this mini-series than I did in the original 7 seasons. I seriously felt like after the death of Richard, something just clicked in her and this 48-year-old woman finally started to let go of her past. It took her long enough, but watching her grow and change and just accept life was actually something I was waiting for throughout the entirety of the original show. The mending of her relationship with Emily is finally really happening and I think that was really evident as well as important character growth on both of their parts.

Speaking of Emily, I know we all felt an array of emotions seeing that woman in jeans and a t-shirt. At first, it was shocking and then it just turned sad, she was in so much pain the majority of this season and I think we all felt at least a little bit of that pain. I think Richard's passing was the planting of a milestone to come in her life. Of course, she'll never forget her late husband and her home in Hartford, but moving to a new place and starting a life she never imagined would be her's is really amazing. She just seemed so free and so in her element at the end of these four episodes. That was definitely my favorite part of this entire series.

Now that we're talking about endings, this is the part you've all been waiting for...the last four words:

"Mom,"
"Yeah."
"I'm pregnant."

What in the hell was that? Why did they leave us with so many unanswered questions? They obviously want us to think this baby is Logan's and leave it at that. But we all saw the old flame sparking up between her and Jess, and who knows what they did in their off screen time...I have no actual guesses as to who the father is but I seriously hope they don't try to end our Gilmore Girls journey with those four words and nothing more. We need more -- our favorite Stars Hollow fam can't go back into hiding for another decade.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
