What I imagine finding the one will be like…..

Okay ladies and gents (if you are reading this), close your eyes, clear your mind and let’s use your imagination. You know those days when you are so busy that you don’t eat anything ALL day. The days that are like don’t look at me like that or you will be losing your left arm due to my hangariness. The day drags on and then you finally have time to go to a restaurant, order your meal and then wait for an eternity for it to arrive. Then. It. Happens. A tray suddenly comes from behind the corner with your waiter or waitress’s arms attached to it. Your eyes get big, your heart starts beating really fast, you get all giddy and your stomach drops.

That’s what I hope finding the one will be like. The mouth open, deer in the headlights, stop you right in your tracks, fireworks and the thought “Oh Shit! I’m in trouble” running thru your mind moment. Just imagine one day when you are walking to class, getting into your car or doing your everyday activities and that happens. Seeing someone look at you the way you look at your food when it gets put right in front of you would be the absolute best feeling ever. Of course this isn’t a fairy tale, you might find the one when you literally just rolled out of bed to get to that class on time. You might find the one when you are walking to class and a bird poops on you. You might find the one when you just left a party and you are throwing up and peeing yourself (Hey! Don’t judge, we have all been there). I wish that we had a magical way of knowing that this person was our one and only, a necklace that matched up to theirs, a tattoo that glowed when theirs was next to ours, anything that would help us to stop wasting our time on the douchebags that don’t even matter. Whenever it might be I hope your one will be the most caring, compassionate, awesome, amazing, beautiful creature that you have ever laid your eyes on. When you find the one you will absolutely have hard times because everyone goes through them in this crazy life we live in, but I hope your one will be there every minute to help you get through with a strong shoulder to lean on. I hope your one says “Come bother me baby” like the cute couple off The Choice. I hope your one snaps candid pictures of you and posts them with the cutest captions so that everyone can see what their world looks like. I hope your one makes this crazy thing called life worth the roller coaster ride that it brings with all the loops and turns. I hope your one makes you feel like you are worth it every single day because baby you are. With all fairy tales, the prince and the princess, the prince and the prince, the princess and the princess (whatever you are into) lived happily ever after.

I know that life isn't a fairy tale but we live in a messed up world that I hope that this article brought some hope into this magical moment that you WILL experience one day. When this one falls into your life, I hope you fight like hell to keep this person that will become your person, your everything, your kind of church, your healing hand, your light at the end of the tunnel in your life. We aren't promised tomorrow and thing happen so fight for those that would never leave you because everyone needs someone worth fighting for.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
