5 Things I Miss About My College Town

In This Article:

Due to COVID-19, I went back to my hometown a month earlier than originally planned. I have loved being home with my family and friends but, it is safe to say I am already missing Tallahassee. It has made me realize some of the things I never thought I would miss, but I do!

1. FSU Campus.

Florida State has one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. The brick buildings and trees everywhere make such an amazing scenery for going for a walk/run. There are so many different spots on campus to sit down and just relax. You can even lay out in the sun on Landis Green or throw a football around. Just simply being on campus is something I miss.

2. Walking everywhere.

This is something I never thought that I would miss. Walking everywhere is exhausting at times but I will admit, in South Florida we drive everywhere and I am tired of it. Everything the students need is typically within walking distance from either campus or student-living apartments. Simply having to walk somewhere is so nice and is something I never expected to miss.

3. My apartment.

I MISS MY ROOM!!! My apartment in Tallahassee is so nice and is located right next to campus. We have a pool, gym, study rooms, and some of the best staff working there! We even get a monthly calendar with a bunch of different events or food places that will be brought to our lobby. They really try and make our living situation as easy as possible and I am so comfortable living there.

4. My friends.

I can not even describe how much I miss my people. My friends and I are together nearly every single day and not seeing them has been killing me. I know we are all doing our own things right now but it makes me so sad to think about how much fun we all would've had if he did not have our semester cut short. However, it makes me sooo excited to think about how excited I will be to be back there and reunite with them!

5. POTS!!!

Who doesn't miss Pots...let's be real. I am in desperate need of a lunchbox and Happy Hour right about now. I miss the music, the dancing, the fun that Pots brings. Every week, Happy Hour does not disappoint and when we all get back to school it will be even bigger and better!!

I'm sure, like me, many of you received lots of gift cards over the holidays. After working retail seasonally, here are a few tips that I learned in order to make the employees at your favorite store just a little happier and not want to charge you extra on your purchase for being awful. Here are some times when you should be nicer to retail workers than you actually are!

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
