My list can go on forever but these five things are what really helped me through freshman year.
1. No one's food compares to my momma's.
There is nothing better than coming home one weekend and eating the amazing food my mom cooks.
2. Finding the perfect place to study is a very important thing.

3. Morning classes really aren't that bad.
Growing up everyone is used to waking up and getting to school around 8:00 am. Having morning classes means you're able to get your day done with classes and enjoy your evenings.
4. It is okay to miss a party.
Not socializing one day is not going to kill you. Having a lazy evening is sometimes better than having to deal with a bunch of people in a crowded space.
5. Being homesick is normal.
Missing your parents and your bed is normal. Working to get past it may be difficult but eventually, you'll be able to grow accustomed to college life.
