What "How I Met Your Mother" Has Taught Me

I grew up watching How I Met Your Mother with my parents. I grew to love and appreciate the show and it became my absolute favorite! Not only does it make you laugh and cry, it teaches you some great life lessons in each episode. Here are my top lessons I've learned from this amazing show.

Spoiler Alert: If you haven't seen all the seasons, some pictures/gifs contain elements from all seasons. You've been warned

1. Nothing good happens after 2 AM

2. Don’t chase after what doesn’t work

3. Don’t give up crazy times with friends

4. It’s not easy to stay friends with everyone from college

5. But cherish the friends who mean a lot to you

6. “Sometimes you fall for someone you’d never expect, but that doesn’t make it wrong.”

7. Pursue the career path and profession you’re passionate about

8. Don’t have sword fights with your best friend

9. High-fives are the best way to show your friends affection

10. If your wedding day isn’t going the way you want it to, make it perfect in your own way

11. “The one” may not necessarily exist because sometimes you get more than one chance at real love

12. Don’t rub it in your ex’s face when you’ve moved on

13. “Whatever you do in this life, it’s not legendary unless your friends are there to see it.”

14. Every moment that you’re living eventually turns into a memory and, therefore, an epic story

15. Your story is never really finished

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a music major is not all kicks and giggles. In fact, there are days when I question my sanity and doubt myself as a musician. I know I am not the only one going through the struggle, and so here are 13 GIFs that I know my fellow music majors can relate to...
