What He Broke, He Can Fix

Why on earth would you thank someone for breaking your heart? Well, why wouldn’t you?

What He Broke, He Can Fix

Dear Broken Hearted,

Let me start with you are beautiful, you are amazing, you are kind hearted, you are unique, you are broken but you are beautiful. One of the most vulnerable things we can do in this world is give our heart to someone, right or wrong – that little bit of voice in our heart encourages us to dive in and not fear the future. That little voice that pushes us into love is going to be the same voice that influences you to look in the mirror to tell yourself that you are okay and the sun will shine again – that little voice is Jesus and that little voice isn’t leaving anytime soon.

When you find someone who makes your sun shine brighter, your heart pound faster and gives you chills when they touch you – it is almost like God himself is talking to you and saying “Look, I found your Boaz.” When in reality, that is not the case. Sometimes God will give you a full diamond necklace just to make you realize you look better with emeralds. Diamonds are still great and amazing but not really a good match for your complexion.

Well what do you do when that diamond necklace was really amazing and your stubbornness does not want to let go? Let go. Although it is super amazing, all good things come to an end and if you love something let it go and if it’s truly meant to be, it will come back. We’ve all heard the sayings before, some make sense to us and some we don’t want to make sense because we are stubborn and we want what the heart wants. However, just because we want it does not mean our life needs it. God will give us such amazing things and when they’re taken, we question why but we shouldn’t, He knows what He is doing, He knows why.

Stop Asking Why and Trust

While we’re asking God “why me?” He is looking down and He is probably shaking His head, wishing we would just be patient and trust Him and watch the miracles He is about to place into our lives. Sometimes God will put us through utter hell and detrimental heart break just so we can appreciate and value the miracles on the daily we take for granted. Sometimes He brings us to our past obstacles to show us how much stronger we have become from then to now, sometimes we learn and sometimes we don’t but we will – tough love.

How do you smile when your heart is full of pain and your eyes are full of tears?

This question pains every time someone leaves your life when you did not want them to.

This question is one that every girl has asked themselves as they lay in their bed, bundled in blankets with tear stained pillows.

This question is one that every girl has asked themselves as they struggle to simply put on mascara because their eyes keep watering and suddenly that waterproof mascara is not living up to its name.

This question is one that every girl will ponder and then ask why they were burned. With every new relationship, you play with fire – it’s all based on if you played with fire safely. Maybe you just liked the warmth the fire brought, maybe you liked it a little too much which explains the third degree burn branded into your heart.

This question is one that every girl will ask and see no hope in the answer.

But this is one question that has a truthful answer…

Your heart is full of pain but the pain will drain and you will be able to fill it with happiness and sunshine but do not fill these holes with the words and whispers of a boy. Fill these holes with Jesus, your family, your best friends – with the little things that matter the most. Fill your heart with everything beautiful and everything truthful.

Be Thankful

Why on earth would you thank someone for breaking your heart? Well, why wouldn’t you?

At one point, they were everything you were praying for. Thank God that He made such an amazing person. Be thankful that you got to be a part of their life even if it was for the short duration it was. At one point, you had your sun, your stars and your rainbow all in one picture and at one point, you experienced true happiness. You should be thankful and still pray for them the way you were doing before your world shifted.

If Jesus was able to cry to His Father as He was being crucified and beg Him to have mercy on the men, you can forgive and forget this pain.

Look At You

You might be broken but you will not be broken forever, you are still beautiful. No one compares to your beauty. Your eyes will still melt the hearts of some and give comfort and a sense of home. Your smile will continue to bring people to their knees and will be so contagious others will smile. Someone will come along and truly love every detail about you and the beautiful, stunning human being God made you to be will be appreciated, I promise.

Jeremiah 29: 11

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

God knows exactly what He is doing. This heartbreak is only bringing you one step closer to the healing you deserve. Trust not on your own understanding but trust Him, He has your back through all of this – He knows exactly what He is doing.

My Prayer to You

God, I ask that you take the broken hearted and rid their hearts of the hurt and have them empty those parts and I pray those holes be filled with Your love and have You guide them. Lead them to happiness and contentment but also reassure them as they cry that their tears will dry and they will find happiness. Jeremiah 29: 11 – Amen.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
