Watching TV is one of my favorite things to do. Who doesn't like binge-watching? To be honest, the past few days, all I have done is watch my favorite TV shows online. When I was 14, I was introduced to the amazing world of international TV and binge-watching, and ever since, I am always on the lookout for new TV shows to love and obsess over.

So, today I reflect on what my favorite characters from my favorite TV shows have taught me.

1. Meredith Grey (Grey's Anatomy)

She may be all "dark and twisty" and messed up, but she was the first character who taught me something. She taught me that it is fine to feel scared, make mistakes and to learn from your everyday life. She taught me that in the face of adversity I am supposed to stand tall and face it. She helped me believe that come what may I won't fade away.

2. Olivia Pope (Scandal)

Known for her problem-solving skills and her extremely tough sustenance of wine and popcorn, this fixer taught me to stand up for what I believe in and that, when the time is right, I should fight for what I think is right and achieve whatever I believe I deserve. She taught me never to doubt myself and to always believe my gut. She taught me to face adversity with my head held high and to help my friends and always be there for them whenever they may or may not need me.

3. Kate Beckett (Castle)

Tough yet soft, this NYPD Cop taught me that everybody needs help and that help can come in many forms and from anybody. She taught me that motivation comes from within us, and if we believe in something there's nothing wrong with fighting for it and seeking justice. She taught me that, sometimes, it is good to put your life in danger for the greater good, and if you believe something is right you can go to any length as long as you believe in the truth.

4. Rachel Green (Friends)

Rachel taught me not to be scared of new beginnings and changes. She taught me that suddenly one day my life could do a full 180-degree turn, and I would have nothing left. She taught me to work harder. She taught me to pursue my passion and always find happiness in the small "magic beans" of life, for at the end of the day, as long as you have someone to fall back on, it doesn't matter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
