Glasses are amazing, to say the least. Before you get your first pair, you think that things look the way they are supposed to. Then you go to the eye doctor. After that one visit, everything changes. Everything is so clear and precise. You notice things that were never there before. Reading becomes so much easier and reading the board in class is possible. After a while, you get used to being able to see. Then, the time comes when you have to take them off. Your initial reaction is, "wow! I am blind". And then it starts to give you a headache. Familiar faces are now strangers. It is practically impossible to read anything. You get the never-ending question, "how many fingers am I holding up?" What they don't know is that you can actually tell the number of fingers they are holding up, they are just very blurry. You cannot wait to put them back on. When you do, the world is as it should be.
