What happens when you get sick at college...

You wake up one morning and it just hits you. It feels like a truck full force crashing into you. Your body is lethargic, and there is no motivation to do anything at all. That's when you know you are getting sick. There is no one there to take care of you, another reminder that you are becoming a adult. Slightly scary as a reminder you are now on your own and must face the truth. The truth is there is a inner struggle with yourself. When you become sick at college, a problem arises. Will you sacrifice yourself more to get through the week or take it easy?

If you push through it, there will be several problems. You will become more sick and it will be awful and that is not fun. Trying to go with all the things that you have to do. Yet if you try to fight it, you can take the free time you have to sleep and get healthier and on the weekend you can rest.

If you take it easy, you can get over being sick faster. Yet, the problem is you miss classes, test, homework and quizzes. Then after you get better you have to catch up with everyone and email your professor. Then the true battle of hoping that professors will let you resubmit anything you missed. Trying to catch up is harder in college compared to high school because there is no mercy with professor or classes.

The path to get healthy is not a fun one. The only safe way is to find a middle ground. Take off going to the gym and sleep when you have free time from studying. Eat healthier, and do not go out. By just focusing on being a hermit for the week, you may be able to get through the week. Just sleeping you can just improve it so much faster. During the time you get sick, it is acceptable to commit some fashion rules by wearing sweats. When you get sick your top concern is getting better not looking cute and if you just only sleep, shower, eat and study it will be fine. Yeah it's a inconvenience to your social life and you do you feel like death. In the end though, it is better. You only are focusing on the two important things in your life, taking care of yourself and your grades. Once you get better you will appreciate things a bit more.

It is a symbolic moment that you can survive taking care of yourself at a vulnerable moment that you are capable of possibly being on your own without your parents. Adults all the time go to work while sick and force themselves to get through the week. Now, go get some sleep and enjoy the time frame it is acceptable to wear sweats to class. It's the only time you can get away with it.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
