In the midst of the excitement brewing, positively, we see that big day for football was going to bring extreme hype to the day. Who would have thought the Carolina Panthers would have been so dominant throughout the whole season, impressing me game after game. Going into the Super Bowl, I felt no reason why Cam Newton and crew was going to come out with a victory.
The start of the game was slow, as we saw the Panthers win the coin toss to overturn for possession at the half. The Broncos drove down the field like they were determined to get the job done. The defense was tough enough to settle them to a three, but this start worried me. That all died down when I seen the Panthers offense came onto the field, this was it I thought, unstoppable at its finest. When the Panthers was forced to punt on their first drive the whole playoffs, I knew something would be off this game.
At half, I'm mentally sweating, it's 7-13 and the Panthers are playing antsy. Broncos aren't being tremendous but their defense is harmful. My confidence rejoices after the halftime performance. Which brings up a question whether or not the performances are prerecorded, but that's for another time. The Panthers receive the ball and the comeback ensues, or at least I hoped. They don't score until the fourth quarter, which only ends being a field goal. The Broncos scored in the third which makes the score 16-10. Although the play for the Panthers has been atrocious, we still have a chance to win. This is the time we been waiting on, make up for all the lack of play the other three-quarters and finish it here. Cam Newton was pressured by their defense too heavily, causing a forced fumble for a touchdown and an interception. Denver manages to score once more to end the 23-10. One word can explain the game, inexperience. Peyton Manning and the Broncos are sailing off into the sunset for a fairy tale ending; The Panthers will be back though and I already know the outcome will be different.
