What hand does an engagement ring go on?

The wedding ring is worn on the ring finger, because according to an ancient belief a vein passes through it that reaches directly to the heart; it is a symbolic way to attribute to this jewel the task of guiding the feelings to the heart, ensuring love and happiness.

While in most European countries it is worn on the left hand, in many other countries (Spain and Greece for example) it is worn on the right. Each country has its own superstitions when it comes to marriage; it is said about faith that it brings bad luck to wear it before the wedding! Are you more diamond or emerald green? Whichever stone you choose, remember to wear the engagement ring on your left hand until your wedding day.

Many questions, many prices and models: it is essential to try to find the perfect one for your partner, suited to her tastes and personality. Today, however, the prerogative of the ring is not mostly male only: there are in fact many women who choose the ring for their life partner but also many couples who go to buy it for each other, choosing together first.

Which hand do you wear the engagement ring?

Traditionally, this ring should be worn like the wedding ring, on the ring finger of the left hand: generally the ring is a solitaire or a trilogy, while for the very young spouses it is often possible to find smooth silver or white gold bands, in some cases rings with glitter.

Which finger is the engagement ring worn on?

In most countries it is traditional to wear the engagement ring on the left ring finger since the myth is handed down that from there a small artery passes, which crossing the whole arm goes towards the heart. On the wedding day, the engagement ring should be moved to the ring finger of the other hand to free the finger of the wedding ring.

Furthermore, the symbol of the engagement ring has a bonding value (in addition to the economic one), since it means the boyfriend's request to share a whole life, towards his future wife (or vice versa!).

Precisely for this reason, the symbol must (or should when possible) be a jewel of a certain value, accompanied by diamonds or precious stones of various kinds and sizes. Furthermore, it is essential at the time of purchase to always obtain the certificate of the stones, to be inserted inside the very classic red velvet box, with a dome.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
