Halloween — the holiday every kid looks forward to because they know they are going to get buckets and buckets of candy in just a few days. The day where everyone gets to dress up as their favorite superhero, villain or princess. A day filled with scary movies, candy apples, haunted houses, pumpkin carving and chili cooking contests. We all get to the age where we eventually have to stop trick-or-treating (sad day), so we either take younger siblings or find a party to go to. When you get to college it is a whole different story. Yeah, maybe you buy some candy just because you have an excuse to eat it, but now it is all parties. Now it is when you get to dress up as something you can't get judged for. You can express yourself however you want to. Halloween in college is a blast and here is why.

1. Costumes

In college, you start planning your Halloween costume a good month in advance. You really cannot be judged for anything you want to wear. You can dress as slutty, scary or funny as you want. People come up with the most clever costumes, and it's actually a blast to see what everyone can come up with. Some girls aim to look slutty, which is fine because this is the one day that nobody can say anything. Some people aim to look funny because why not? Halloween is so fun and you get to be someone different for a night.

2. Multiple Nights

Halloween in college is not just one night. It's basically a whole weekend. It could even be a week. The amount of parties people throw, or different social events your university has, and also Greek parties is ridiculous. This also means multiple costumes. This also means more money. This also means by the end of it, you are dead.

3. Candy

This isn't much different from childhood, but I still love my Halloween candy. I'll eat a bag of it myself if I have to.

4. Scary Movies

I am obsessed with scary movies, and this is the best time to watch them. They never, ever get old.

All in all, Halloween is lit whether you're in the sixth grade or in college. It'll never get old. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
