What Girls Want

Even though December 25th is over the Christmas season is not. Valentine’s Day is also just around the corner. Guys, was your significant other not happy with her gift? Here is some ideas to make her happy and love you forever! But, this might not be what all women want, each one of us is different. Analysis her to determine the perfect gift. Asking little questions here and there will not tip her about what she is getting.

  1. Jewelry: a great way to first say “I Love You”. Guys, don't go to teeny bopper, cheap stores. We Don't want green necks, fingers, or infected ears. Go to a store that sells just jewelry, Kays Jewelers, Zales, or Jared. These stores sell higher quality jewelry. When finding the right piece it can be time consuming especially when they are busy. There are more diamonds sold at Christmas time than any other time of the year, Valentine's Day is second. Be smart go ahead of time and don't procrastinate. Before going to the store there do your research, the jewelry store is not the place to be lost. Make sure that you know what a karat is, make sure that you have an idea what you are looking for and a price range. Jewelry is a beautiful gift but make sure that she will like it. **This is great for the Greek Lifers Lavaliers!**
  1. Flowers: Nothing has been more of a surprise at her home or work than a dozen Red Roses delivered. This is perfect for longest distance relationships. When it comes to flowers there are things to do and not to do. First, DO NOT get the cheapest flowers you can find. Cheap flowers are an insult not a gift. With nationwide companies likes ProFlowers and 1800Flowers, sending flowers is a breeze all you need is a credit card. Even though these companies are available, getting flowers from a local florist is a better option. But, before you buy, make sure you know what you want. There are several different types of of flowers ranging from roses to daisies, there is colors to from red to yellow to any color you want. Every flower has a different meaning, red rose means romance whereas, a yellow rose means friendship. Research the flower and the message that you want to send to your girl. Last, watch what you put and write on the note because that matters too.
  1. Fragrances: This can range anywhere from Bath and Body Works to high class perfume from Chanel. This also can be very difficult. Take a look in her bathroom and bedroom and snap a photo of her smelly lotion, perfume and research where to purchase that item. For higher class products, can be purchased from a store; such as, Kohl's, JCPenney, and Macy’s. Don't forget they online shopping is a useful great thing and a way to get it cheaper. Also, many women love Bath and Body Works. The trick to not get stuck with the associates. Gift baskets are a great option. One basket or container that holds lotion, body spray, glitter, bubble bath, and more. When in doubt go with the gift sets. Fragrance is a great way to go but make sure it's the right on.
  1. Technology: in the digital age we are custom to today technology is a huge deal and phenomenon. This can be an expensive one depending on what technology that you choose. Buying her a new iPhone will come a hefty price but a Bluetooth speaker shouldn't be expensive. What does your lady want? Has she played music from her laptop, phone or tablet? Bluetooth speaker will be a great option. Is her phone old and starting to go out? A new phone is a great choice. Does she work out, a fitness tracker will be a great option.
  1. Experiences: nothing is better than a trip to Walt Disney World or a trip to Paris! Or anywhere else she talks about. Going on a trip alone. Together this is very romantic. Watching “Wishes” at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom or seeing the Eiffel Tower at night is some of the most romantic places on Earth. But before you go to great lengths make sure that this is a place that she wants to go to. For example, if she hates Disney, a trip to Walt Disney World will not be a good option.
  1. Engagement Ring: One way to make an experience is worth it: A Proposal. But, first plan it out. Planning a proposal is similar to planning a wedding, it takes time. Proposals NEVER should happen on a wimp or fly by the seem of your pants. Not to go into something you would hear from your parents. But, not only does the actual proposal take serious thought but the idea of marriage take more serious thought. Just buy her a ring as beautiful as she is. Typically the engagement ring is three months salary. Similar to most of the other gifts do your research. Nothing looks more clueless than a man at the jewelry store thinking that carrot is what Bug’s Bunny eats.
  1. Chocolate. it's not the Farmer in the Dell’s cheese it can’t stand alone. Chocolate is wonderful gift. It’s the best gift I’ve ever received. It was not no cheap regular chocolate. It was Russell Stover, Esther Price, Ghirardelli and Godiva. Unless you are surprising her with a trip to Hershey, Pennsylvania then it's best to steer away from Hershey. When it comes to food make sure there is not any allergies. Chocolate is supposed to be romantic not life threatening.
  1. Gift Cards: Does she get Starbucks every morning? or often head to McDonalds or a late night meal? Or does she always get her jeans from Old Navy? Gift cards are a great addition to flowers and chocolate. The only thing with gift cards is that they should not stand alone. Also, gift card holders can also be an option, they range from stuffed animals to tins. Take a peek online and at the checkout line and near the gift card kiosk.

Although this is a list of great items to buy us here is a list of things to avoid giving unless you want to sleep on the couch and the in the dog house. Make-up: first of all it extremely complicated. Secondly, nothings says “I Love You” for than here is stuff to cover your face. Animals: yes, puppies and kittens are cute and adorable, but most of the gifts end up in the pound and shelters. Unless, you have talked and taken some serious thought about getting an animal, they are best to avoid. Cleaning supplies: Vacuum cleaners specially avoid altogether. Again, nothing says “I Love You” and here go clean like a vacuum. Under-garments and prank gifts just keep it off the the gift list. Although this list is what Although this is a nine items list that does not mean that this what your girl wants. If you have no idea what she wants ask her friends and family. Other women typically know what to get other women.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
