What Girls Say Vs. What We Actually Mean

Guys and girls aren't that different. They both say things and mean something completely different, and they both expect you to know what they actually meant without them saying it. It's no surprise that men have trouble deciphering what us females are trying to tell them and vice versa. If you're having a little trouble trying to decipher what we girls actually mean, keep reading, and you're welcome.

1. When a girl says, "No, I'm not mad. Why would I be mad?"

This phrase most definitely means that we are mad. We are just trying to hide the fact that we are. We are basically giving you a get out of jail free card by allowing you to think about what you did wrong or what is upsetting us.

2. When a girl says "So what happened? or "What did you do last night?"

Do not try and lie. She doesn't really need you to explain anything. She already knows it all. She is just trying to see if you'll lie about it. Trust me when I say you shouldn't lie. It'll only be worse.

3. When a girl says "No, I'm not hungry."

She may not be comfortable enough to eat in front of you yet but this is always a lie. We are always hungry. So just pull into an Olive Garden. Nobody can turn down those breadsticks. We eat even when we are not hungry.

4. When a girl says "Who is she?"

We already know who she is. After you liked her picture or she liked yours, we stalked her Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even her old Myspace. We may even know her social security number, so telling us you don't know her isn't going to fly.

5. When a girl says "Okay, have fun"

You may think that this means what it is being said but you're wrong. Go and have fun with your friends. I won't be mad, but in reality I am super upset and am plotting ways to get back at you. Payback is a bitch.

6. When a girl says "I don't care."

I do care, and I'm mad at you, and you should probably figure out why because I'm not going to tell you. You will receive the silent treatment until you fix what you did, whether it is your fault or not.

As long as you can understand that what we say and what we mean are two completely different things, you're in good shape.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
