The 5 Beauty Products You Are Missing In Your Life

On a daily basis, I am a relatively simple girl. But it is a tough day that you will find me without the bare minimum products on. Today, I will tell you my five beauty products I would grab if the world was ending. Each of them has been in my life for so long, these spots are well earned.

5. It's a 10

A quote from my mom on damaged hair is that it's "fried, dried and laid to the side." Damage can be caused by any heating tools we use along with color treatment. Since I personally use heat and color on my hair, I must use an awesome conditioning treatment in order to save the quality of my hair. It's a 10 has 10 different claims of keeping your hair strong and beautiful. I just use a small drop of the deep conditioner while in the shower leave it in for about 4 minuets and poof! Hair that is manageable and strong.

4. NYX Cosmetics Lipstick

#NYXCOSMETICS Lipstick is a perfect quick product to step up your face from "I just woke up" to "glamazon." After trying millions of lipsticks, Nyx Cosmetics Matte is my go-to. They have multiple lines of lip wear and I will say the soft matte cream is also amazing. But for a daytime look that needs to look like you spent time getting ready today, the Shade Tea Rose is your girl. I have used it for multiple bridesmaids to give them a perfect finished look. And you can find NYX in so many stores like everyone's favorite, Target, for around $6. What else could you ask for?

3. Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer

No one want's to have huge pores, but for those of us who were left with pores you can see, there is a primer that will help minimize the pores we have and serve as a base for our foundation. Additionally, from being able to minimize pores, this wonderful primer is also oil-free, which is great because I also have oily skin, as well. After trial and error with many primers, this is my number one. The great thing is you can get the super small tester size at Ulta if you don't believe me and want to try before you commit $30 for a full size.

2. Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara

This countdown is based on products you would want in your bag for days when you don't have all day to keep applying coats and coats of mascara to get your lashes to look beautiful and full. The Lash Paint Mascara is awesome for one or two coats — you will have lashes set and ready to go. I will warn you, it is a fairly wet formula, so be careful to let it dry so you don't get it on your eyelids. Ultimately Tarte did an awesome job at getting you instant lashes.

Tip on mascara: Always purchase the trial size because you should be throwing away your mascara within three months regardless of how often you use it. Once you use it the first time, your clock starts.

And my number one "ride or die" beauty product is...

1. Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Powder Foundation

At this point, we have started to discuss all my personal skin issues, which I could go on for days about. But knowing I personally love all these products for the fact that I want to keep break outs away, I have discolored skin that changes daily along with oil coming out of my huge pores, you know why I love this product. This foundation offers coverage of all my issues. There are 11 shades you can be color matched for at Ulta, so don't worry! I love that I can apply my foundation without a mirror on the go and touch up later and never worry about the shade not matching my skin.

I hope you try one of these products and it becomes you favorite as well. I know I have talked up each of these products to all my friends. If you have already tried a product share this and let everyone know which you already love.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?
