What Your Favorite Auburn Bar Says About You

Okay, let's see what my go to bar is really thought of as.

What Your Favorite Auburn Bar Says About You

Although Auburn is a quiet little town, the night life isn't so quiet. There aren't that many bars downtown but the ones that are there the college students take full advantage of. Everyone has their favorite bar whether because they know the bartender and get free drinks or know the bouncer and don't have to pay cover. The type of bar you choose for the night, whether it be crazy or chill, says a lot about you.

Bourbon

Bourbon is the beginning of the beginning to the bar experience of Auburn. Everyone has to start somewhere and that somewhere is Bourbon. You will never go to another bar where you know everyone there, all of the bartenders and bouncers by name, and know the special of the night. If your go to bar is Bourbon chances are you start early and end late, don't remember most of your night, and end up taking a drunk bus home.

Quixotes

Quixotes is one of a kind. If you like meeting new people, great drink specials and dancing this is probably your favorite bar. Always expect the unexpected at Quixotes (also known as "The Q" lately... not sure where that came from but I guess we can roll with it). After three or four of those great $2 wells I'm sure you'll be ready to show your moves on that super awkward dance floor. Whenever that creepy guy that looks about 30 comes up ready to pounce that is when you look at your friend to evacuate to the back patio. If Quixotes is your bar than you probably prefer crazy nights and don't mind not knowing what you'll do or who you'll meet.

17/16

It is more of a chill bar but it can still be wild if you're in that kind of mood. Gather up all your buds and head down there for a game of pool and beer. If its a holiday they always have some delicious specials. If 17/16 is the bar of your choice you're always down for a chill, good time.

Moe's Barbecue

If you go to Moe's, chances are you are always down to party. Everyone there is so personable especially the bartenders. It is definitely an upperclassmen establishment. They are always so fun and creative with their drinks. It's more pleasant being able to sit around at booths and tables to mingle with everyone. Moe's doesn't get enough credit for its charming and welcoming atmosphere. If you're a Moe's goer you obviously don't miss out on the wine nights on Tuesday nights. Down for a fun night, fun friends, and great service Moe's is your place.

Sky Bar

Oh the infamous Sky Bar. You can always count on sky bar for a memorable night (or not). Sky Bar is like an adult playground, there are so many rooms and so many different kinds of people. You can hangout with total strangers and feel completely comfortable with it or go find the area all your buddies tend to linger to. There are so many people there that you can make yourself whoever you want to be that night. You will find yourself around the good, the bad, and the ugly. There drink specials are poppin' too — if you can make yourself go out early enough. Nothing like the Boom Boom room to crank up the party scene. If Sky is your bar, chances are you go in with expectations of "Sky's the limit!" Whatever bar is your favorite, you're making memories you'll never remember with friends that you'll never forget. What better place to do that other than Auburn, Alabama.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
