What Does it Mean to be YOU?

During this day and age, where YouTube is considered an everyday a part of our lives, constantly changing beauty trends have young men and women re considering if they are good enough for their loved ones or meet the standards of beauty in 2017.

As we progress into 2018, we have to realize that trends always change, and no matter what there will always be faults pointed out within us. That is just an unfortunate side effect of humanity. But with those "faults" pointed out, we have to try and see past how people see us in a negative light, such as " you need to lose weight", "whats with the black, Gothic look, aren't you too old for that", and my favorite, "you look prettier without your glasses" Hence why laughing gets me through life these days.

When it comes to being yourself, we also see that 2017 could be a blessing in disguise. Sexuality is not just something that people keep locked behind closed doors anymore, gender is what YOU want to be considered as. Normal is something that we shouldn't be afraid to deviate from. If you like those beauty trends, awesome! I'm personally glad that YouTube is acknowledging something you enjoy. If not, that's fine too. again, you are you. No one can change that and I am proud of you for embracing yourself.

The reason why I point this out is because there are always people wanting to change my appearance, and coming from an old fashioned way of life, I always thought there was an agenda to how I was supposed to be. But then Joan Jett, KISS, and Twisted Sister taught me to not give a damn, and just be happy with who you are, and be with people that YOU want to be with. Instead of letting ourselves feel like we need to follow these certain beauty trends, following the latest fashion, be a rebel and just be YOU. Let the world see you for what you truly want to be in life. Just a little note for you to always remember.
