Wake up every morning and ask yourself, " what do I want for myself today?"
College is all about building yourself and finding yourself in the process. But, I find it so easy to get lost in other peoples expectations and lose what I want for myself. If you were to ask yourself what you want right now would you like your answer?
If you're chasing big goals, trying to fill big shoes, or just simply wanting to build a good life for yourself are you doing what you need to do to build this life for yourself right now? Or are you lost in the party scene, skipping class or work? If the answer is yes you need to imagine your future self and the reality of your life if you continue down this path. Yes, everyone needs a personal day once in a while, or is having a bad week, or maybe not doing so well in their classes. It happens to the best of us, but, your true character shows through in how you handle it and move on.
Life isn't just sunshine and whiskey, sometimes things don't work out fully, but when a door closes another one opens. Meaning, maybe you missed an opportunity to better yourself but there might be another chance or an even better one. People get second, and even third chances all the time, so if it doesn't work out the first time fight for what you want if you want it that bad.
If you woke up this morning and asked yourself, "what do I want for myself today?" what would be your response?
