Audrey Hepburn once said,"The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she knows.”
Beauty has been something that has changed throughout generations, varied from culture to culture, and been perceived by society in different lights. In most cultures, a woman's beauty is based on whether she's attractive, appealing, charming, and captivating. The physical aspect is just a small component of what makes a woman genuinely and truly beautiful. Society today has placed a major emphasis on the physical characteristics of beauty and fails to acknowledge that there is much more to a person's beauty than what meets the eye.
I believe that a woman should also be admired for her inner characteristics and personality. True beauty is encompassed in who you are as a human being in society, your principles and morals, and the knowledge and love you spread to others. We live in a society where media portrays beauty in a certain light by displaying images of flawless, perfect women on magazines and television, which have created a distorted and stereotypical view of what is considered to be beautiful. Many of us get influenced by what we see in the media and constantly try to change ourselves to fit this idea of what society deems as "beautiful."
However, we forget that there is more to our beauty than the clothes we wear and how our bodies are shaped. Our personalities and souls are much more fascinating than anything else. Mandy Hale says, "Outer beauty pleases the eye, but inner beauty captivates the heart." We all come in different shapes, sizes, and colors and accepting who we are and our differences makes us beautiful and unique. We have to remember that we are all strong women with knowledge, talent, and compassion that make us beautiful in our own way. The beauty and soul within us shines bright and that is the most attractive and alluring thing that a woman can truly have.
