I know what you're thinking... girl, I'm in college — why would I doubt that I'm not? Well, fair point. You could be going to school without fully experiencing what it means to be a college student. Below are five things every college student should understand.

What it means to have that ounce of alone time

In college, you never truly have alone time. So when you get that little time to binge watch your favorite shows or do your homework in peace and quiet... it is everything.

Going out on a week night

Now, I'm not one to normally go out when I know I have classes in the morning... but there is something about college that gives you the idea you can do both. (In moderation of course)

Eating nothing but easy-mac and frozen dinners

It is that time of the month where you really have no food but a couple packets of noodles and fake cheese and maybe a box of frozen pizza in the corner of your freezer. You wonder to yourself... how the heck did I gain five pounds? That's how.

You're up till 2 am watching Netflix

Your body is totally out of whack... you have a 9 a.m. class but you can't help staying up till the sun comes out cause you just can't fall asleep. What can you do during all of those hours of no sleep? Binge watch your favorite shows of course.

Any sight of parents is a rare one

Living without the sight of parents for months on end makes it really weird when you finally see one. It is like they're a rare species or something.

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.
