Christmas certainly isn't about packages, boxes, or bags.

No matter how old I become, Christmas always has a special place in my heart. Christmas means more to me than what I can put into words!

1. Christmas means snow

What's Christmas without some snow? Being from Wisconsin, there's nothing quite like a white Christmas.

2. Christmas means mistletoe

If you're lucky enough to have that one special someone, pucker up! (As cliché as it is...)

3. Christmas means family

My personal favorite part of the holidays is getting to spend time with my family. No matter how busy we all are, Christmas is one of the few days of the year we all come together and celebrate.

4. Christmas means giving

While many people associate Christmas with receiving presents, it truly is the season of giving.

5. Christmas means joy

As well as it being the most wonderful time of the year, it is also the happiest!

6. Christmas means Jesus

Let's not forget the reason for the season.

7. Christmas means lights

There's not a prettier sight to see than houses with beautiful, sparkling lights hung up, reflecting onto the snow.

8. Christmas means movies

There's countless wonderful Christmas movies out there, from classics like "It's A Wonderful Life" to newer movies like "Elf."

9. Christmas means cookies

With tons of different Christmas cookies out there, Christmas can be the most delicious time of the year, too!

10. Christmas means relaxation

Finally, the time of year when it's acceptable to simply put on a pair of fuzzy socks, grab a mug of hot cocoa, and snuggle up next to the fireplace. Enjoy it.

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
