What to do in the face of tragedy

When tragedy happens, it's hard to know what to do. We are so far removed from a lot of these things that it becomes difficult to find a place to make a difference in the situation.

I still don't know what I can do other than call my congressional representatives (without a guarantee that they'll listen to me). I

While it may feel like your voice gets lost in the sea of everyone else's, one thing you can do is love people.

Start small by being aware of how you speak and interact with other people. Make sure your words are kind and uplifting. It's been said that actions speak louder than words, so maybe we should give that a shot.

Start small. Start by showing everyone that you meet that they are worth your time and attention. Show them that you care more than they think you do.

Together, we can prove that love beats hate.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area.
