What Being An Aunt Means To Me

To me, being an aunt is an honor.

Becoming an aunt is one of the greatest feelings in the world. I have become a role model, a nurse, a lover, and a friend to four little ones. It has definitely been a journey, but well worth it. I have learned things about myself and about life that I didn't know until I became "TiTi." Being an aunt means the world to me!

I'm supposed to be the "good guy."

Apparently, when their mom or dad are getting onto them for doing something they shouldn't be, I become their go-to protector. They expect me to be able to save them from their punishment. It's like they think I'm the weak one and will save them from getting in trouble (even though I am the weak one to give into their teary face and I do try to get them out of trouble). That's what an auntie is for, right?

I'm a role model.

I know that my nieces and nephew look up to me and I am very thankful for that. After becoming an aunt, you now have little feet that will try to follow in your footsteps. Make wise decisions and choose your words in front of them wisely as well. They will do and say exactly what you do.

I have responsibilities.

Even though I am not their parent, I still hold an important spot in their life. When no one else can do it, "TiTi" better know how! Trying to keep a smile on their face and food in their belly is a must!

Being an aunt is such a blessing. When you walk into their house and have them run up to you with open arms and calling your name, your heart feels whole because having people who are so little, love you so much, is a wonderful feeling. I wouldn't change my auntie life for anything in the world!

"TiTi" loves you all and I pray life brings you more happiness than anything. I've always got your back, no matter what.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
