What I'm Thankful For

Remembering What is Important This Holiday Season

What I'm Thankful For

Since Thanksgiving was last week and Christmas is coming up, I just wanted to make a list of things I'm thankful for. I think everyone gets so caught up in the holiday season that no one remembers that this is the time to let everyone know how much you appreciate them and how they have changed your life. After all, that is what this time is all about.

1.My Erin Condren Planner

I hate to list a material thing first, but I want to start off by saying how thankful I am for my planner. It helps me keep my life together from class, Odyssey, work, and Greek life. I don't think I could do life without it.

2. My Sorority

As a ZTA, I have truly been able to appreciate my college experience. My sisters immediately gave me a group of friends to hang out with and helped me find my niche in college. It also has helped prepare me for leadership roles and life outside of college, all while holding me accountable for everything I do.

3. My Puppy

I seriously am obsessed with my dog. Nina is a havanese-poodle mix and is six pounds of attitude. She is man's best friend and makes everyone around her happy (just like every dog should).

4. My best friend

I seriously couldn't do college, or life, without her!

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

It is no secret that many American traditions have changed over time. As we grow older we change in so many ways that it only makes sense that we also change the way we celebrate special occasions. Of course when it comes to the holidays there are some family traditions that many of us still excitedly look forward to, whether it is eating your favorite dish or seeing favorite cousin. However, we all know that the holidays have overall changed a little from what they used to be.
