25 Signs You Went To Prendie

"Daughters true are we to Christ Our King!" Prendie was more than a just a high school. Those of us that were lucky enough to experience it, spend some of the best years of our lives there. We all gained over a hundred of lifelong sisters and traditions that are still dear to our hearts. Prendie shaped who we are and we will never forget it along with all of the memories we made there. Once a Prendie girl, always a Prendie girl.

  1. When people ask where you went to high school, your heart swells up with happiness remembering the greatest school in the world.
  2. You still remember every word to the Alma Mater that Sister Carol taught you.
  3. You stole the locker number off your locker the last day of school.
  4. Flashbacks of Sister Gertrude's math class still haunt you.
  5. You still have all your puffy painted shirts from spirit day.
  6. You proudly wear your Prendie ring everyday even years later.
  7. You have extra change now that you're not spending it all on frooties at lunch.
  8. You had the best view of the city when you signed your name at the top of the bell tower.
  9. You never had a pair of maroon stocking without a run.
  10. You will never part ways with your sweater and even put it on from time to time.
  11. Ring Dance and Dad-Daughter were hands down the best because there were no boys to impress.
  12. You never felt more at home in a classroom than in Mr. Rodgers class surrounded by pandas.
  13. The proud moment of receiving a jar of honey when you won a Golden Panda Award.
  14. You can't help but take a Snapchat of the beautiful school every time you drive by.
  15. You never had a greater teacher than the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. David Smith. It's time to tee it up.
  16. You miss rolling out of bed and going to school with no make up, hair in a bun, and that comfy grey jumper.
  17. Christmas music doesn't sound the same without hearing it on the stairs.
  18. Whenever you hear your Baccalaureate song, you get choked up remembering standing on the stairs of Holy Cross.
  19. Walking past boys and being shocked when they don't scream, "Girl!!!" like the Bonner boys did.
  20. The only appropriate time to listen to Man in the Mirror is at the end of a dance.
  21. You're still bitter you never got picked to sumo wrestle during Spirit Day.
  22. There's nothing like bittersweet moment of changing your patch on your uniform.
  23. You never forget your retreat time and running around the halls before room checks (Shout-out to 5:26).
  24. The best night of your life was the sleepover in Prendie walking the halls at 3 a.m. searching for ghosts in the black box.
  25. Loving getting up each morning surrounded by sisters who gave you the best years of your life in a place we call our second home. Ut Sim Fidelis.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
