McDonalds, Wendy’s, and Burger King. The OG fast food competition (I’m looking at you, Chipotle and Moe's). Burger King and McDonalds have always seemed to hash it out with each other while Wendy’s stayed in their own lane, waiting in the shadows. Although McDonalds will most likely forever hold its place at the top in popularity, Wendy’s is the true underdog.
1. French Fries and Chocolate Frosties.
This unlikely duo may be Wendy’s secret weapon. Dipping your fries into the cool, richness of the chocolate provides the true meaning of life the moment those fries hit your lips. The sweetness of the frosty really balances out the saltiness of the fries. Seriously, you should try it.
2. Wendy's actually cares about their food.
Well OK, maybe they don’t really care, but they recently revamped their burgers. Their buns are now probably twice as thick as a bun from McDonalds. Don’t worry, it’s the perfect balance of bun-to-burger ratio.
3. Wendy.
You got Ronald McDonald in one corner, the Burger King in the other. But what about Wendy Thomas, the face of Wendy’s? Let’s be real here, Ronald McDonald and the Burger King are pretty creepy mascots. Although Ronald and Wendy do look alike, at least Wendy is an actual person and not a clown from my nightmares.
4. Wendy's actually has really good chili.
It doesn’t seem very likely that a fast food chain would have many alternatives to burgers or chicken fingers and fries, but Wendy’s does. Getting some warm chili and a baked potato on a cold, winter night can remind you less that you are eating fast food.
5. Wendy's keeps it simple.
Places like Taco Bell offer crazy combinations likes Doritos and tacos all stuffed together to make some sort of quesadilla. Yes, that might be something I’d order at 3 a.m. after a long night out, but normally such combination of foods makes my stomach twist. Wendy’s on the other hand, keeps it pure. You want a burger, you got a burger. Want a triple burger? No problem. There is no need to worry about ordering the wrong item and ending up with some sort of food with too many different types of cheeses in the wrong places.
Wendy's is the real force to be reckoned with.
