It's a totally valid question.
And it's one you should ask, especially if you currently just have a little glimmer of wanting to change, and you want to know more.
When it comes to weight loss, change needs to happen. In fact, I've made a ton of progress with my journey over such a short amount of time simply by changing the way I do certain things.
And by changes, I mean permanent changes. Not those temporary food deprivations (gross!), weight loss pills (do you guys even know what goes in them?), or crazy, weird fad diets (i.e. the cotton ball diet - so totally wrong).
I can't even remember all of the things I've tried in the past few years in the name of losing weight. But, what I can tell you is that none of them actually, completely worked. At all. Maybe for about five seconds.
Why? Because, back then I wasn't making any lasting changes. Sure, the effort was there - it just wasn't realistic. It was a fad, not a lifestyle.
So, what actually makes a wellness lifestyle?
As you might have guessed from the name, it involves doing everything, well, well.
Eating well, drinking well, sleeping well, exercising well.
These are four things I seriously struggled with in the past. But, once I found out how to deal, I saw change almost immediately.
Basically, think of your body as a bank account:
Good food or drink choices are good investments.
Getting enough sleep is a good investment.
Exercising regularly is a good investment.
Wouldn't you like to be the absolute best version of yourself?
If you're just starting out, I know this can all sound pretty daunting. But, if you put your heart into it and prepare yourself for change, you'll find just how simple it really is.
Just remember: Permanent results only come from permanent changes. If losing weight is your goal, know that it took more than a day to put it on. It'll definitely take more than a day to take it off.
And, once you make these lasting changes, you'll be on your way to a lifestylefull of wellness and balance.
I hope this finds you well, and that it changes the way you were initially approaching your weight loss journey.
