Every year Mother's Day rolls around and I never know how I can appropriately honor her for being such an amazing mom. I mean, she deserves a private island and I can afford flowers... that I picked. So today, I want to say thank you to my mom, for everything she has done over the years.
Thank you for sacrificing so many things over the years, whether it's small things like going longer between hair appointments and eating cold dinner or much larger things like putting your life and career on hold for me while I was growing up. Thank you for always putting my needs in front of your own, making sure I had clean clothes, a warm dinner and a comfortable place to sleep.
Thank you for being just a phone call away. Especially when it's 12:30 am on a Wednesday and I am just sad and need to talk. For always having a listening ear when I need advice or just need someone to hear me out and show me sympathy. Thank you for dropping everything for me so many times, when I was sick or in trouble and needed your help.
Thank you for rubbing my back when I cried over a break up, lost a loved one or was dealing with petty high school drama. Thank you for being excited for me when I accomplish something big or get an amazing opportunity. Thank you for always supporting my dreams and my goals, no matter what they may be.
Thank you for being the comforting voice, the laughter I need to hear, and the warm embrace I will always need after a bad day. Thank you for teaching me how to have a sense of humor, to not take life to seriously.Thank you for teaching me how to face challenges head on, to persevere through adverse situations, and take every negative problem and learn from it. For showing me that you are never told old to follow your dreams or accomplish your goals.
I want to thank you for being hard on me, making me do chores, holding me accountable for my actions and giving me the work ethic that helps me accomplish so many things today. Thank you for teaching me to be independent, and to never rely on others for things you can do yourself. Thank you for teaching me how to confront someone when I am upset or have a problem, for teaching me how to make a friend out of a stranger and to be kind to everyone I meet.
Thank you for being my best friend, my greatest supporter, the greatest gift I ever have received. Thank you for being my mom.
